A Family Shop Building Rustic Furniture in Weldona, Colorado
Raised In a Barn Furniture has been building custom furniture by hand for over a decade. We take weathered barnwood and Colorado beetle kill pine and turn it into furniture your family will keep for generations.
Turning Something Old Into Something That Lasts
It started with a simple idea. Old barns are full of beautiful, seasoned lumber, and too much of it ends up burned or buried. So we started saving it. Today that wood becomes beds, dressers, dining tables, vanities, mantels, doors and porch swings.
We are a small, family-owned shop on the plains of northeast Colorado, about 13 miles from Fort Morgan. There is no factory line here. Instead, the same few people cut, build, sand and finish every piece. Because of that, we know every bed and table that leaves the shop.
How We Build
We prepare the wood
Every board is kiln dried, de-nailed, planed, jointed and stabilized before building. That makes old wood safe, clean and stable indoors.
We pick the right species
Our barnwood is typically aged pine, Douglas fir, oak and mixed hardwoods, plus Colorado beetle kill pine with its blue-gray streaks.
We build it to last
Solid joinery, real wood throughout, and low-VOC finishes. Pieces arrive built, finished and ready to use.
We stand behind it
Every piece carries a lifetime workmanship warranty. If our work fails, we make it right.
Choose Your Texture
| Finish | What it looks like |
|---|---|
| Rustic | Visible saw marks, weathering, nail holes and texture |
| Rustic-smooth | Sanded smoother while keeping the character |
| Refined rustic | A more polished finish with subtle character |
